Mental Health and Depression Stigma

Let’s Discuss It. That’s not a joke. Even though I’ve never believed in the stigma, I understand it. I like to pretend it doesn’t exist, and it doesn’t. It’s either you or it is in charge of you at any given time.

I’m speaking on behalf of everyone else who can’t. Maybe it’s because, like so many of my friends and family members, they lost their fight with mental illness and despair, or because they’re afraid of what people would think or say about them.

If you continue to stigmatize depression or any other mental health illness, you may be putting yourself at risk. It’s a matter of life and death.

Please understand that I completely get what you’re saying. We didn’t speak about emotions a lot while I was growing up. It’s safe to say that you didn’t shed any tears in public or to a man.

My tears still resist me during funerals, for reasons I can’t fathom. I mean, I’ve never seen somebody laugh at someone else’s tears during a funeral before. Despite the fact that I’ve felt like I was dying inside while smiling, I’m the one who constantly tries to seem like he’s good.

As a culture, we’ve now reached a point where we can freely discuss topics that were formerly stigmatized or forbidden. Many of my days are spent writing about them since I know that very few people will do so. When it comes to stigmatization, the thing about it is that it dies in the light.

The stigmatizer’s weight to carry or the difficulty or discomfort you experience talking about depression or any other issue becomes simpler to cope with once you freely and honestly discuss them. Get out there and share your story, and watch how it inspires others to do the same.

In the year 2022, the only tough men are those who are paralyzed by a crippling phobia of publicly discussing certain topics. Because it makes them uncomfortable, they use stigmatization to attempt to prevent you from opening up to them. If you want them to win, go ahead and let them, but I refuse to let them.

Nobody will ever be able to control what I say or write. The comments area is open to anybody who wants to share their thoughts, although it’s quite unlikely that anyone will. When you’re out of the picture, they’ll speak about you. So, in that case, who exactly lacks moral character and integrity?

According to the adage, we have nothing to fear except our own fear. In addition, I will not be scared to talk or write freely or honestly today. I’m beginning to suspect that I never have.

It’s all worth it if I’ve been able to assist even one individual in any manner. Day by day, I’m dismantling stigmatization one limb at a time.
