The Posttraumatic Stress Checklist (PCL) is a widely used self-report measure to assess the presence and severity of symptoms associated with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). The original 17-item version of the PCL is based on DSM-IV criteria for PTSD and assesses symptoms across three clusters: re-experiencing, avoidance/numbing, and hyperarousal.
