Scholastic Competence Scale

The Scholastic Competence Scale is a subscale of the Children’s Self-Perception Profile, developed by Harter (1985). It is designed to measure a child’s self-perception regarding his or her ability to complete academic tasks and succeed in schoolwork. This measure is rooted in the concept that a positive perception of scholastic ability is critical to motivation and academic performance.
