Social Comparison Scale

The Social Comparison Scale (SCS), developed by Allan and Gilbert in 1995, is a self-report instrument designed to assess an individual’s perceptions of themselves compared to others in social contexts. Social comparison is a psychological phenomenon whereby individuals evaluate their own abilities, traits, or circumstances in relation to others. This process has a profound impact on self-esteem, mental health, and interpersonal relationships.
