The Stigma Scale

A shame stigma scale is a self -report tool developed to measure the stigma associated with mental illness from the perspective of individuals who suffer from psychological distress. In recognition of the widespread influence of the stigma on mental health service users, the scale is designed to capture the multi -faceted nature of the stigma as it was mentioned directly from the affected. The development process included qualitative interviews with mental health service users, which leads to an initial group of 42 elements.
